Relevance Helps Students Become Ready for Life:

When students understand the connection between their class work and the world of work, they perform better.  As a community, there are many ways we can make textbooks  come alive, and answer the question “Why do I have to learn this?”.  For example:

• Become a classroom speaker on your profession or a hobby
• Invite students to visit your place of work
• Volunteer at a local school, helping students understand subjects from agriculture to rocketry
• Become a mentor on a high school senior project
• Represent your business at a Career Day
• Volunteer at a youth non-profit, such as Hale `Opio, Junior Achievement, Boys and Girls Club and many others.
